7% of Indians suffer from mental health disorders. The poor who experience debt, hunger, poverty, and hopelessness are more likely to suffer from mental disorders and cannot afford medical help. This is a vicious cycle. Thane Mental Hospital has been treating many such poor patients over 100 years.
Thane Mental hospital had approached Yashlok Welfare Foundation and asked them for raincoat donation during monsoon for the patients.
Free raincoats were distributed by Yashok Welfare Foundation to patients of Thane Mental Hospital.
These raincoats were for patients who have to be kept continuously occupied with some or other activities. If they are not kept busy, the empty mind gives them a chance of another mental attack.
All activities are conducted in the hospital premises.
The activities given to them include gardening. Hence during rains, they require raincoats to protect themselves from rain.
Yashlok Welfare Foundation realised the importance for this cause and immediately gave them free raincoats to the patients.
