Women Empowerment

Yashlok Welfare Foundation believes that Employment is the most powerful form of Empowerment today. The Foundation aims to create and facilitate a sustainable source of employment for underprivileged and unemployed women in urban and rural India. We aim to achieve the same by partnering with the corporate sector to execute manufacturing contracts with a CSR mandate.

Our first project in partnership with Key Exports India, a textile and garment manufacturing company, achieved the same while manufacturing raincoats for the various Police Departments across India. We facilitated the employment of 18 adult women across age groups and ethnicities who were victims of poverty and un-employment. We worked with them to upgrade their skills and trained them in all aspects of the raincoat manufacturing process right from cutting, fusing to packing the final raincoat over the course of the four month manufacturing period. This will likely convert into a recurring activity due to the successful execution of this project. Needless to say, the new skills imbibed during this tenure also empowers them to seek employment in other manufacturing concerns.
